Today, the Supreme Court overturned a previous High Court ruling regarding the ownership of Haveeru News Agency, the publisher of the daily newspaper Haveeru. The verdict establishes Dr. Mohamed Zahir Hussain as the rightful owner, marking a significant turn of events in a longstanding legal dispute.

The case began when stakeholders Farooq Hassan from G. Kokkiri and Ibrahim Rasheed Moosa from H. Meerubahuru filed a lawsuit seeking their share of the earnings from Haveeru, as well as a role in the operation of the publication. This move triggered a legal battle that has been ongoing for some time.
