The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has issued a notice to residents who have set up huts in the beach area of Hulhumale Phase 2, instructing them to vacate the premises by 30th May.

In a statement released yesterday, HDC announced that the huts must be removed by the end of May to facilitate necessary development works in the area.

HDC warned that failure to comply would result in the clearance of the area. The state-owned company clarified that it would not be liable for any damages incurred to property during the clearance process.

The makeshift huts were established by individuals residing in the Hiyaa Housing flats, primarily for small businesses selling snacks.
