Mayor Azim highlighted that there are currently two streets in the city without designated names.

The Mayor’s proposal aimed to assign the name ‘Palestine Street’ to one of the two unnamed streets or any other street with a connection to Palestine. The motion was seconded by councillors present at the meeting.

During the deliberations, Mohammed Saif Fathih, Councilor for Galolhu North, expressed support for the initiative, citing international precedents where streets are named in honour of individuals or causes dear to the community.

Mayor Azim assured that further details, including the precise location of Palestine Street, would be disclosed subsequent to the approval of the name.

He indicated plans for a special ceremony to commemorate the naming, during which the chosen street would be officially designated as Palestine Street.
