Addu Road Development Nears Completion

The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure announced yesterday that the road development project in Addu is approaching its final stages.

According to posts released on X, the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure said the road in Feydhoo is now 93 per cent complete and the link road between Hithadhoo Gaukede and Maradhoo is 90 percent complete.

Minister of State Ibrahim Nazeem conducted a site visit yesterday to personally assess the progress of the project.

The initiative involves the development of over 100 kilometers of tar roads in Addu, with an allocated budget of USD 18 million. The project also involves the construction of a four-lane detour link road stretching 1.43 kilometers, which will connect Hithadhoo Gaukede with Maradhoo.

Additionally, the project encompasses the installation of drainage systems, street lights, and CCTV cameras to enhance infrastructure and safety in the area.
