Aikko, Firushan Secures The Democrats Ticket

Mohammed Saif Fatih (Aikko) of The Democrats has secured the ticket for Henveiru South constituency in The Democrats’ Primary Elections, alongside the incumbent MP for Madaveli constituency Hussain Firushan who secured the ticket for the South Hulhumale’ constituency.
While Aikko secured the ticket with 15 votes, MP Hussain Firushan won the ticket with 74 votes.
The opposing candidate against Aikko was Ahmed Aswan Nouman; He received 12 votes.
Opposing candidates against Firushan were Hassan Agil, who got 27 votes, and Mohammed Faisal, who got 26 votes.
The Democrats are currently contesting 41 seats in the parliament. Most of the members secured their tickets without a primary as only one candidate applied for most constituencies.
Among those who secured tickets without a primary are Ali Azim, the current MP for Central Henveiru, Eva Abdulla, MP for North Galolhu and Imthiyaz Fahmy, MP for North Maafannu.
Other members who secured their respective tickets include Central Maafannu MP Ibrahim Rasheed (Bonde), and West Henveiru MP Hassan Latheef, with former STO Managing Director Hussain Amr confirmed for the North Macchangoalhi constituency.
