Ambassaor of Japan Presents Letters of Credence to Muizzu

Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives, Ishigami Rumiko, presented her Letters of Credence to the President, Dr Mohamed Muizzu this morning.
The ambassador was escorted to the President’s Office from Republic Square in a cultural procession called “Haiykolhu” with the MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band.
After the ambassador presented Letters of Credence to the President, he accepted it and welcomed her as the Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives.

Following the presentation, the President and the Ambassador discussed potential areas for collaboration, including disaster management assistance and renewable energy. According to the President’s Office, they expressed their interest in collaborating to further advance the strong ties between the nations in the meeting. The President also thanked the Japanese government for its continuous support of various developmental efforts in the Maldives.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Japan were established on 14th November 1967.
