Yasir Hassan, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Road Development Corporation (RDC), has come under scrutiny as reports reveal a substantial deposit of MVR 13 million into his personal account.

The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the MMA swiftly notified the police about this concerning transaction, leaving the source of the funds ambiguous, raising questions of a potential direct transfer from the RDC account. Authorities are now delving into the matter to uncover the details behind this significant deposit.

The police issued a statement to the media, confirming that they are conducting an investigation into a case related to RDC, but provided no further details at this time.

Moosa Ali Manik, the Managing Director of the government-owned road construction company, and Yasir Hassan share a close friendship, having been born on the same island.

In response to media claims suggesting that both individuals had withdrawn MVR 13 million from the RDC account, Moosa took to Twitter and vehemently denied the allegations.

Moosa holds the position of the MDP’s Maduvvari constituency president; while Yasir, who also serves as the procurement manager of Housing Development Corporation (HDC) , is the MDP’s Hulhumale’ constituency president.
