The Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced a new organisational structure and a six-month rotation of four executive leadership roles, aimed at strengthening accountability, simplifying customer journeys and supporting the bank’s long-term growth strategy, the company said.

Under the restructuring, four members of BML’s executive team will take up adjacent roles for an initial six-month period:

  • Moosa Nimal — Chief Marketing Officer
  • Rashfa Jaufar — Chief Risk Officer
  • Gary Laughton — Chief Credit Officer

BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said the changes are intended to support the bank’s growth and improve how it serves customers.

Shareef said the temporary rotation will give experienced executives exposure to adjacent areas of the bank’s operations, strengthening leadership depth and institutional capabilities.

BML said the restructuring is part of its efforts to invest in its people and capabilities, strengthen its organisation and improve service standards while pursuing sustainable growth.

The bank assured that the changes are internal and will not affect customers’ accounts, products, services or existing points of contact.

The new organisational structure takes effect today, following approval by BML’s Board of Directors.
