British High Commissioner Meets Chevening Scholars

The British High Commissioner to the Maldives, Caron Rohsler, recently met with seven of the eight outgoing Maldivian Chevening scholars.
These scholars are set to pursue fully-funded one-year master’s degrees in the United Kingdom under the prestigious Chevening Scholarship programme.
Established in 1983, Chevening Scholarships are funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office alongside partner organisations. The programme offers talented individuals from across the world the opportunity to develop professionally and academically while experiencing British culture.

In a social media post, High Commissioner Rohsler expressed her admiration for the scholars, stating: “I was so impressed by these young Maldivians. I am sure they will make a fantastic contribution to the Maldives’ development in all sorts of ways. It’s a pleasure to help shape their learning and welcome them into the Chevening fold.”
Applications for the 2025-2026 Chevening Scholarships are now open. The British High Commission encourages interested candidates to visit the Chevening website for more information at www.chevening.org/scholarships.
