Chinese Communist Party Delegation Pays Courtesy Call on President Muizzu, Discusses Stronger Bilateral Ties

A delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) led by Peng Xiubin, Director General of the Bureau for Southeast and South Asian Affairs at the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today to discuss strengthening Maldives-China relations.
The delegation paid a courtesy call on President Muizzu at the President’s official residence, Mulee’aage.

Peng highlighted the shared values and people-to-people ties between the two countries and expressed hope for deeper economic cooperation and stronger bilateral relations.
He also noted the frequent high-level exchanges between the Maldives and China as an indication of the strength of the partnership.
President Muizzu thanked China for its longstanding friendship and support to the Maldives, particularly its economic assistance.
The President described the Maldives-China relationship as a comprehensive strategic partnership.
