Cocoon Maldives Crowned Champions of Tekkers Resort Cup 2023 in Lhaviyani Atoll

Cocoon Maldives claimed victory in the Tekkers Resort Cup 2023 Lhaviyani Atoll after a closely contested final match held on Monday, the 3rd of July. The encounter against Le Meridien saw Cocoon Maldives emerge as the winners in a penalty shootout.

The Lhaviyani Atoll Final witnessed the presence of senior management from both Cocoon Maldives and Le Meridien Maldives, who gathered to observe the match.

During the first half of the final match, both teams scored a goal each, resulting in a 1-1 draw. In the second half, Cocoon Maldives’ Mohamed Nabeel, wearing jersey number 16, took the lead, but the hosts managed to equalize late in the game. Consequently, the match proceeded to a tense penalty shootout, which Cocoon Maldives won by a margin of 5-4.

Mohamed Shuhail of Cocoon Maldives was named the man of the match for his notable performance. The top five players in the Lhaviyani Atoll zone comprised Mohamed Shuhail and Hassan Zarir from Cocoon Maldives, along with Ahmed Haanif and Akbar Ali from Le Meridien Maldives, and Ali Gusham from Cocoon Maldives. Mohamed Nabeel from Cocoon Maldives and Ahmed Haanif from Le Meridien Maldives were recognized as the top scorers in this zone, each netting two goals.

The Best Coach of Lhaviyani Atoll award was presented to Mohamed Abdul Ghanee of Cocoon Maldives, while Mohamed Nabeel from Cocoon Maldives received the title of the best player of Lhaviyani Atoll.
