A scheduled parliamentary committee meeting aimed at addressing the approval of ministers has been cancelled today due to an insufficient quorum.
The Government Oversight Committee had set a meeting for 09:00 to deliberate on the matter of ministerial approval. However, the parliamentary office conveyed to the media that the meeting was called off due to the absence of the required quorum.
The committee chairman and West Maafannu MP, Mohamed Falah confirmed the cancellation. Falah explained that a minimum of four members is essential to commence a committee meeting, and for a vote, a quorum of six members is necessary. Unfortunately, only three members were present at the scheduled commencement of today’s meeting.
The committee determined that the report on ministerial approval did not adhere to the established rules and consequently sent it back to the committee on the 18th of this month.
