Complaints Period Initiated for Political Party Membership Applications

The complaints period has been initiated for individuals wishing to raise concerns regarding the application forms for registration as members of political parties. 

This period allows individuals to voice their complaints before the finalisation of registrations.

Any complaints related to the list published on Sunday, November 19, 2023, must be submitted to the Election Commission of the Maldives (ECM) Headquarters before 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 26, 2023. 

Concerns can be expressed through the designated Complaint Form or sent to the Commission’s email address at info@elections.gov.

The disclosed number of forms associated with each political party in the published list is as follows:

– Maldives Development Alliance (MDA): 88 forms

– Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP): 348 forms

– People’s National Congress (PNC): 160 forms

– Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM): 560 forms

– The Democrats: 123 forms

– Adhaalat Party (AP): 476 forms

– Maldives Development Alliance (MDA): 130 forms

Additionally, individuals can verify information about currently registered parties by sending an SMS with the format PPR space ID-Number to 1414.
