The Commissioner of Police, Ali Shujau, expressed optimism about creating a safer nation through public-law enforcement collaboration.

The Commissioner addressed the media during the inauguration ceremony of the new police post in L. Maabaidhoo, emphasising the significance of joint efforts to combat the increasing high crime rate. The establishment of the police post is part of a broader initiative to enhance police services and ensure the safety of the locals.

CP Shujau, joined by the island’s Council President Ibrahim Visham, inaugurated the L. Maabaidhoo police post, underscoring the importance of community involvement in maintaining internal security. He affirmed his belief that residents and the police force would continue their cooperation to prevent crime effectively.

Looking ahead, CP Shujau outlined key strategies for the next five years, focusing on enhancing police services and standards in L. Maabaidhoo. These include decentralisation measures, strengthening the police force, providing advanced technical resources, and intensifying collaborative efforts with local councils and citizens. The Commissioner emphasized that these initiatives are crucial steps towards realising the shared vision of a crime-free society in the Maldives.
