Deadline Extended for MMC’s Journalism Awards 2022

The Maldives Media Council (MMC) has extended the nominations period for the “Journalism Awards 2022” to Sunday, 23rd July 2023, at 13:00, allowing for more time to submit nominations.

The Journalism Awards, hosted by the MMC, aims to acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional work of journalists who have made valuable contributions to the field in the Maldives. The awards will be presented to deserving journalists across 12 distinct categories, encompassing print, online, and broadcast domains. 

These categories include investigative journalism, the social sector, the legal and judicial sector, the business sector, and the sports sector, among others.

To be eligible for nomination, journalists must be citizens of the Maldives and have been employed by a registered media company for a minimum period of nine months between 1st January and 31st December. 

Furthermore, each journalist can only be nominated for one specific field, ensuring a fair and focused evaluation process.
