Dhiraagu Malé Open 2026 Registration, Closes on 31 July

Registrations for the Dhiraagu Malé Open Swimming Competition 2026 will close on 31 July, with the event set to take place on 21 and 22 August at Rasfannu, Malé.

Organised by Swim Maldives, the competition is recognised as the largest open water swimming event in the Maldives. It aims to promote open water swimming, encourage greater participation in the sport and raise awareness of the importance of protecting the Maldives’ marine environment.

Participants can register for the 1km, 500m and 250m race categories. This year’s edition will also introduce a new 500m Team Relay, allowing friends, families and swimming clubs to compete together.

According to the company, interested participants are encouraged to complete their registration before the deadline to secure a place in one of the country’s most anticipated swimming events.

Participants can register online before 31 July 2026 through the Swim Maldives registration portal.

Last year’s competition attracted 350 swimmers from across the Maldives, with more than 340 participants successfully completing their races. Competitors ranged in age from six to 65, highlighting the event’s inclusive nature and the growing popularity of open water swimming nationwide.
