Dhiraagu Opens Registration for Road Race 2024, Deadline by Next Tuesday
Dhiraagu has called to register for Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2024, the largest run in the Maldives, by September 10, coming Tuesday.
Interested participants can conveniently register and get more information via www.dmrr.mv. Registrations for DMRR 2024 will close at 23:59hrs on Tuesday, 10 September 2024. Scheduled to be held on 25 October 2024 (Friday) at Central Park, Hulhumale’, this year will mark the 15th edition of this largest and most anticipated running event in the Maldives.
This year, Dhiraagu has introduced a brand-new category: Office & Resort – 5K Team Event, where teams of four members from any resort, government entity, SOE and the private sector can form teams to represent their respective organisation. Teams can consist of all-male, all-female or a mix of both.
In addition to this, registrations are also open for Open categories – Half Marathon, 10K and 5K – as well as School Above 13 – 5K and School Above 13 – 5K.
Similar to previous years, DMRR 2024 is dedicated towards the social cause of child protection, one of the key focus areas of Dhiraagu’s corporate social responsibility programme. The run will provide a platform for NGOs working in the area of child protection to raise awareness and funds for their cause.
Dhiraagu will award five grants of a total of MVR 200,000 amongst the top five endorsed NGOs nominated by participants at the time of registration to help kick-start their planned activities. In addition to this, Dhiraagu will be donating MVR 100 from each participant registration and all proceeds from special bib number sales in equal shares to the endorsed partner NGOs.
Last year, Dhiraagu awarded a total of MVR 635,000 amongst all the endorsed partner NGOs of DMRR.
Every year, DMRR awards attractive cash prizes for winners of different categories. Similarly, this year, Dhiraagu will be awarding a total prize pool of MVR 256,000 amongst the winners as well.
DMRR is the first and only international run held in the Maldives, listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar with a World Athletics-certified race route.
