As part of its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility, Dhiraagu has extended its support to the Blind and Visually Impaired Society of Maldives (BVISM), enabling the organisation to carry out inclusive community engagement programmes across Shaviyani Atoll.
BVISM, a dedicated non-governmental organisation, champions the rights and welfare of individuals living with visual impairments in the Maldives. With Dhiraagu’s backing, BVISM will conduct a series of awareness sessions in the islands of Kanditheemu, Milandhoo, Funadhoo, and Komandoo. These sessions, held in collaboration with local councils, aim to promote inclusivity, raise public awareness, and encourage greater community acceptance of individuals with visual impairments.
We are happy to support the Blind and Visually Impaired Society of Maldives (BVISM) in hosting inclusive awareness outreach sessions across Sh. Atoll, fostering greater understanding and promoting inclusion for the visually impaired community.

In addition to sponsoring these awareness initiatives, Dhiraagu continues to provide in-kind support to BVISM through its Phone Meeting service. This specialised platform allows BVISM members to make free calls within the Dhiraagu network, offering a reliable communication tool for those with limited access to in-person gatherings.
The service not only facilitates essential organisational meetings but also enables regular social interaction among members. It plays a critical role in hosting remote training sessions, peer learning programmes, and awareness campaigns, ultimately strengthening community ties and building capacity within the organisation.
“Dhiraagu remains steadfast in its mission to uplift and empower vulnerable groups, particularly children and young people, through sustainable and meaningful community programmes,” Dhiraagu wrote in their statement.
