According to State Electric Company Ltd [STELCO], efforts to rectify the situation are currently underway, with power being restored to some areas affected in the first phase. STELCO assure residents that all locations experiencing power interruptions in the initial phase will have their electricity supply reinstated promptly.
However, residents residing in the vicinity of the second phase SOEs flats will have to wait until the damaged cable is repaired before their power can be restored.
The restoration work is expected to be completed within an estimated timeframe of approximately two hours.
Stelco addressed the issue, deploying its technical team to repair the damaged cable and expedite the restoration process. They are working diligently to minimize any inconvenience caused to the residents of Hulhumale.
STELCO has now reported that around 90 percent of the first phase in Hulhumale’ has regained electricity, and the remaining areas will be reconnected within the next 15 minutes.
All residential areas in the second phase have now been fully restored with electricity.
