Eagle Hills Chairman Highlights Vision for Maldives Waterfront Project

Eagle Hills Chairman Mohamed Alabbar has outlined his ambition to developing a landmark project in the Maldives, characterising the country as a global holiday destination with significant potential for residential living and long-term financial returns.

In a statement shared on his official Instagram account, Alabbar praised the natural appeal of the country while outlining his vision for a flexible lifestyle development tailored for both short and extended stays.

“There’s only one Maldives in the world. When you’re tired, you say, I want to go to the Maldives. The best holiday, the most beautiful place: the Maldives. Why shouldn’t it be the best place to live?” Alabbar wrote. “We’re creating a way of life where people can stay for a month, or stay for a week. It has beautiful beaches and restaurants and hotels and places for sports and places for children.”

Alabbar also highlighted the economic prospects of the development for investors, describing expected yields as exceptionally high.

“As for your income from this property, in my humble opinion, the returns could be among the best in the world,” he noted.

Acknowledging the scale of the undertaking, the developer expressed gratitude to the Maldivian public for entrusting his firm with the project, which represents a major financial undertaking for the nation.

“The people of the Maldives trust us with the largest investment in their history. This is an honor for us. May God help us, God willing, to live up to their expectations. Our people’s and our country’s reputation matter in everything we do,” Alabbar added.

The remarks follow the recent signing of commercial terms between the Government of Maldives and the Abu Dhabi-based private real estate investment firm for the Maldives Waterfront and Marina development in Ras Malé.
