In connection with the Presidential Election 2023 in the Maldives, the Election Commissions of Maldives (ECM) have now established The National Complaints Bureau at the Election Center.

The setting up of this complaints system aims to ensure transparency and address any concerns related to the electoral process. To facilitate citizens, the ECM has made the complaint form readily available.

People can access the form on the ECM website, obtain it in person at the Election Centre, or get it from the counters of the Election Commission office, Atoll council offices, and the Election Focal Points set up in various provinces and cities.

The National Complaints Bureau operates from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm every day except Sundays, with extended hours until 5:00 pm on Fridays.

This announcement serves as a public notice, emphasizing the importance of this step in fostering accountability and upholding the integrity of the electoral process. The ECM aims to instill public confidence and ensure a fair and credible Presidential Election in 2023 by establishing an accessible and transparent mechanism to address citizens’ concerns.

The National Complaints Bureau can be contacted by phone at 3004498 or via email at complaints@elections.gov.mv. Complaints sent by email will also be accepted.
