ECM Sets Saturday for Signing of Voter List for Parliamentary Elections

The Election Commission of Maldives (ECM) has announced that the signing of the final list of eligible voters for next month’s parliamentary elections will commence on Saturday.

The signing process will take place from Saturday 10:30 am until Sunday 12:00 am at the ECM’s Election Center located at Dharubaaruge. Individuals delegated to sign on behalf of candidates must present a letter of authorisation from the candidate, along with a copy and original of their ID card.

The final voters list indicates that a total of 284,663 individuals are eligible to participate in the parliamentary elections slated for the 21st of the upcoming month. Among these eligible voters, 139,361 are women and 145,302 are men.

The forthcoming parliamentary elections will witness 369 candidates vying for seats across 93 constituencies in what marks the 20th Parliament elections next month.
