Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has announced plans to expedite the development of 4,000 flats in Hulhumale’, with tenants expected to move into some towers by February.

In an interview with PSM News, the newly appointed Managing Director, Hamdhan Shakeel, outlined the corporation’s focus on its two largest projects: the construction of 16 Amaan Udhares towers and 16 Amaan Dhoadhi towers.

While progress is being made on all fronts, Hamdhan emphasised the immediate priority of establishing basic services in the area and expediting the overall project.

During his inspection of the project site, Hamdhan identified key issues, including the absence of a proper communication network and basic services. In response, plans are underway to address the lack of mobile range by installing a cell tower, along with ensuring essential services are in place before the influx of residents.

Ground floor spaces within the towers are designated for shops, pharmacies, and other general services, as well as office spaces, ensuring that all necessary amenities will be accessible within a 20-minute radius.

Contrary to the previous government’s claim of completing four towers by December, Hamdhan clarified that none would be finished by the end of this month. However, he optimistically projected that some towers could be completed by February under the new administration’s accelerated efforts.

The primary objective remains the swift completion of the flats and their subsequent handover to rightful owners, with ongoing fieldwork aimed at facilitating the relocation of residents to the area in February.
