First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended the closing ceremony of the Ufakaara training programme held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Health, Family, and Welfare yesterday.
A total of 19 participants completed the training, which aims to improve food safety and quality standards among food producers and vendors across the Maldives. The First Lady presented certificates to the participants as well as to 17 facilitators who conducted the programme.
The Ufakaara initiative was launched by the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) in 2017 to promote food safety practices among producers and vendors. The programme has since been conducted in the Greater Malé Region, Lhaviyani Atoll, Meemu Atoll, Kulhudhuffushi City, Noonu Velidhoo, Fuvahmulah City, Laamu Atoll, and Faafu Atoll.
