During the meeting yesterday, the Minister conveyed the Maldivian government’s gratitude to Al Suwaidi for ADFD’s continued support. He highlighted the positive impact of the projects funded by the ADFD in sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and healthcare.

Minister Zameer’s visit to the UAE began on Monday following an invitation from Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE. The Maldivian Foreign Ministry described the visit as a crucial step in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. In addition to the meeting with ADFD officials, Zameer is also scheduled to hold high-level discussions with Sheikh Abdullah and other senior UAE officials.

Accompanying Minister Zameer on this official visit are Ambassador-at-Large Ahmed Naseer, Secretary for Bilateral Affairs Dr. Hala Hameed, and Joint Secretary Mariyam Reesha.

This meeting follows an earlier engagement between Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Al Suwaidi, which took place in February during the World Government Summit in Dubai.

During that meeting, President Muizzu and the ADFD Director General discussed enhanced cooperation, reaffirming the Fund’s commitment to the Maldives’ development, particularly in key sectors.
