Foreign National Found Unconscious in Malé Dies in Hospital

A foreign national who was found unconscious outside a guesthouse in Malé has died while receiving treatment, according to the Maldives Police Service.

Police reported that the man was discovered lying unconscious and bleeding from the mouth in front of a residence on Kalhuhuraa Magu. He was transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for treatment, where he later died the same night.

Authorities confirmed that the individual was an Indian national.

Preliminary findings indicate no evidence of foul play or involvement of another person in the death. Police stated that no suspicious circumstances have been identified at this stage, although the case remains under investigation.

Witnesses at the scene reported that two individuals were stopped after attempting to leave the area shortly after the man was brought to the location and were handed over to police. Authorities have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
