Former MP Ahmed Rasheed Passes Away While Undergoing Cancer Treatment

Ahmed Rasheed, a former Member of Parliament for the Gadhdhoo constituency, has passed away at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) this morning while receiving treatment for cancer.
Rasheed was elected to the 18th Parliament as a representative of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), which held power during his tenure. During his time in parliament, he actively contributed to several key committees, including the Public Accounts Committee, the 241 Committee, the Committee on Independent Institutions, and the Committee on National Development.

His last funeral prayers are scheduled to take place after the maghrib prayer this evening.
