Former VP Jihad Appointed Chairman of Maldives International Financial Services Authority
Former Vice President Abdulla Jihad has been appointed as the Chairman of the Maldives International Finance Service Authority (MIFSA).
President Dr Muizzu formed the governing board of the Maldives International Financial Services Authority (MIFSA) yesterday and appointed Jihad as chairman, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed revealed in a post shared on X.
Jihad brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as Finance Minister and Vice President under the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen. Minister Saeed said Jihad’s appointment follows President Muizzu’s vision to transform the financial sector and enhance economic growth.
MIFSA, established in January, aims to play a crucial role in the development of onshore and offshore financial services in the Maldives. The Authority falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, in accordance with Article 116 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives.
