Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Gasim Ibrahim, has expressed his perspective on the parliamentary elections, highlighting what he perceives as a vote of confidence in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Through social media, Ibrahim commended the current administration for securing a super majority in the parliamentary elections, interpreting it as a demonstration of public trust.

In his statement, Ibrahim stressed the significance of the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) achieving a super majority, suggesting widespread support for Muizzu. He extended congratulations to Muizzu, the leadership of the PNC, and all successful candidates.

Additionally, Ibrahim credited Muizzu’s efforts during both the 2023 presidential election and the 2024 parliamentary elections, attributing the victories to the president’s leadership rather than any reserved seats.

Addressing allegations against Muizzu during the parliamentary elections, Gasim dismissed them, asserting that the election results reflect a rejection of such claims by the Maldivian populace. He maintained that the outcomes indicate a dismissal of purported misinformation regarding Muizzu’s leadership.
