The National Awards Committee has opened nominations for the National Award for Public Service, with the award criteria published in the gazette.
The award is a national honour conferred by the President, recognising individuals who have served the state for more than 35 years and have carried out their duties with capability and sincerity, contributing to the advancement of their institutions.
Recipients will receive a shield, a badge of honour and a commemorative certificate presented by the President.
Nominations may be submitted by government offices, state-owned enterprises, companies in which the government holds a majority stake, or by individuals themselves. Nominees must have previously served or currently serve in the organisation submitting the nomination.
The submission period runs from today until 2:00 PM on 11 June 2026. Applications must be submitted via the President’s Office portal.
The committee has urged applicants to complete all required fields accurately and attach the necessary supporting documents.
It will assess nominations based on performance and sincerity in the discharge of duties, contribution to institutional development, and professional achievements. The evaluation will also consider active involvement in institutional work and verify whether any criminal or civil cases are pending against nominees.
