Government Submits 37 Bills to Parliament, Says Speaker

Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla has revealed that the government has submitted a list of 37 bills to the current 20th Parliament.

He announced that these bills would be distributed to the members today. Two government-proposed bills were first read during today’s session.

These included the Health Services Amendment Bill, introduced by Henveyru South MP Hussain Imran Latheef, and the Sovereign Development Fund Bill, presented by Central Fuvahmulah MP Ali Fazad.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised the necessity for the 20th Parliament, which holds a substantial government majority, to pass 200 laws to ensure the provision of essential services to the populace.
