“I assure you that the Ministry will, as far as possible, offer financial support for various efforts undertaken by NGOs,” Dr Shaheem remarked, emphasising the government’s commitment to aiding these organisations.

He highlighted that funding would be allocated to projects focusing on teaching Islamic practices, such as the performance of Salat (prayer), as well as other smaller-scale religious initiatives.

Dr Shaheem further stressed that Islamic education in the country could be most effectively promoted through collaboration between the Ministry and NGOs.

The Ministry reported that the ongoing annual meeting saw participation from 98 representatives of 70 organisations, with attendees joining both in person and online.
