The agreement was formalised with Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, representing HDC and Zhou Weidong, Managing Director of Rotime, signing on behalf of the contracting company.

According to HDC, this initiative, which the contractor primarily finances, is slated to be completed within a two-year timeframe.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Fazul underscored the significance of the complex in addressing the shortage of godowns or warehouses experienced by local businesses, irrespective of their scale.

He also highlighted the pivotal role the complex will play in bolstering trade and commerce across the Maldives.

In addition to offering ample storage space, the warehouses will be equipped with adequate parking facilities and solar panels, aligning with sustainable development goals.

The development of a warehouse complex to support local businesses aligns with a key promise outlined in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s campaign manifesto.
