Gov’t Plans Land Allocation in Hulhumale’ for Media Village Development

Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information, and Arts, Ibrahim Waheed has revealed that the government is actively working towards designating a land plot in Hulhumale’ for the establishment of a media village, during a press conference.
Minister Waheed underscored the significance of creating a dedicated media village to address the challenges faced by various media outlets. Collaborating with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the government aims to allocate a suitable land plot in Hulhumale’ for the proposed project.
During the press conference, Minister Waheed disclosed that the President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has instructed the ministry to submit a detailed proposal outlining the intended use of the allocated land and strategies for media outlets to generate revenue.
The formulation of a land-use plan is expected to be a collaborative effort involving discussions with HDC and key stakeholders in the media industry.
