Gov’t to Approve Student Loans for Eligible Applicants

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has sanctioned the provision of student loans to all qualifying applicants under the current scheme.

The decision came to light through an announcement made by Higher Education Minister Dr. Mariyam Mariya during the third session of ‘Ahaa’, a public forum of ministers, convened last evening.

Applications for student loans, aimed at facilitating higher education opportunities abroad, commenced on March 28, with an initial deadline set for April 25. However, in response to demand, the deadline was subsequently extended to May 2.

These applications were accepted for 500 available slots, distributed across two categories: new students embarking on their educational journeys and those already enrolled in overseas programmes.
