HPA opens applications for World No Tobacco Day award
The Health Protection Agency has announced the opening of applications for its annual World No Tobacco Day Award, ahead of World No Tobacco Day.
The award aims to recognise the contributions of individuals, organisations, and state agencies involved in tobacco control efforts across the Maldives, as part of ongoing national initiatives promoting a healthier, tobacco-free society.
The agency stated that the accolade is intended to acknowledge work in areas such as advocacy, public education, and policy implementation, while encouraging continued efforts to reduce tobacco use and its associated risks.
Eligibility is open to any individual or organisation whose work has made a significant contribution to tobacco control and public health protection in the Maldives. Particular emphasis has been placed on initiatives aligned with this year’s theme, “Unmasking the appeal – countering nicotine and tobacco addiction.”
The HPA has invited interested and eligible parties to submit applications or nominations via email before 2 May.
