Ilyas Haneef Appointed CEO of CA Maldives

Ilyas Haneef has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in the Maldives (CA Maldives).
In a statement, CA Maldives welcomed the appointment, saying it looks forward to a new chapter of growth under his leadership.
“We are pleased to welcome Mr Ilyas Haneef as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Institute. With his leadership, experience, and strategic vision, we look forward to a new chapter of growth and continued success for the Institute,” the statement read.

Prior to the appointment, Ilyas served as Chief Financial Officer of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), a position he left in January 2025. He has also served as President of the Maldives Association of Finance Industry (MAFI), having been elected in January 2019.
He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), accredited by CPA Australia.
