Maldives Immigration has started monitoring public spaces commonly visited by foreign nationals to address actions that may negatively impact the public interest.

Immigration officials have stated that observations revealed some foreign nationals congregating in public spaces have been engaging in activities detrimental to the community. As a result, officers from the Immigration Law Enforcement and Compliance Department are now actively monitoring these areas to prevent such incidents. Immigration further noted that should any undocumented migrants be identified during these patrols, appropriate action will be taken.
