The Jumhooree Party (JP) engaged in a meeting with the leadership of the Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) and the People’s National Congress (PNC).
The gathering, attended by President and PNC President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, also saw the presence of PNC Chairperson Abdul Raheem Abdulla. JP’s deputy leader and former Transport Minister, Aishath Nahula, led the proceedings.
Sources from the Jumhooree Party have indicated that the primary focus of the meeting was the forthcoming parliamentary elections. Despite the significance of the discussions, the party has chosen to remain tight-lipped, declining to provide additional details about the nature of the deliberations.
The PPM/PNC coalition has already asserted its ambitions, stating its intent to secure more than 70 parliamentary seats in the upcoming elections.
