Kulhudhuffushi Labor Quarter Engulfed in Flames

A fire engulfed a labor quarter in Kulhudhuffushi City, yesterday.

The incident unfolded in a labor quarter comprising 400 housing units within Kulhudhuffushi city limits. The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said Northern Area Command received an emergency report at 14:35 pm yesterday. In swift response, firefighters from the local fire station rushed to the scene, successfully extinguishing the blaze by 15:05 pm.

The labor quarters suffered extensive damage, with the fire reducing the entire structure to ashes. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to ascertain the cause of this unfortunate incident.

Fortunately, amidst the chaos and destruction, there were no reported injuries as a result of the fire.

This incident follows a similar one from the previous week, when a residential house in Kulhudhuffushi was also consumed by flames, leaving its occupants with no choice but to seek refuge in temporary accommodations.
