MACL Renews IATA Safety Accreditation, Earns Enhanced GSE Recognition
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has renewed its International Air Transport Association (IATA) Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) accreditation and IATA registration, while also receiving IATA Enhanced Ground Support Equipment (GSE) recognition.
MACL announced the achievements in a post, describing them as part of its efforts to maintain international safety and operational standards.

ISAGO is an IATA audit programme for ground handling service providers, covering areas including aircraft handling, baggage handling, cargo and ramp operations.
The accreditation indicates that MACL’s ground operations have met the safety and quality management requirements assessed under the ISAGO programme.
MACL also renewed its IATA registration, which follows successful completion of the ISAGO audit and places the company on IATA’s registry of registered ground handling service providers.
The company received IATA Enhanced GSE recognition, which relates to the use of safer and more advanced ground support equipment in airport operations.
Ground support equipment includes vehicles and machinery used on the airport apron, such as aircraft tugs, loaders and belt loaders. Enhanced GSE initiatives promote the use of equipment with safety features designed to reduce the risk of incidents involving ground vehicles and aircraft.
MACL said the achievements reflect its team’s efforts to maintain international standards and best practices in airport ground operations.
