According to a public advisory issued on X, the airport is experiencing unusually high passenger traffic today. The company attributed the crowding to roadworks near the new terminal and a significant number of travellers departing ahead of the Eid holidays and the Hajj pilgrimage.
MACL recommended that passengers follow their respective airline’s check-in guidance and arrive at the airport at the start of the check-in period to avoid potential delays. Ground staff have been deployed on-site to assist and help maintain a smooth airport experience.
Travel volume has risen sharply as the public prepares for a five-day holiday period, with Eid al-Adha falling on Friday and the Hajj pilgrimage taking place tomorrow.
