Mr Maldives Championship Set for Tomorrow at Dharubaaruge
The highly anticipated Mr Maldives bodybuilding championship is set to take place tomorrow at Dharubaaruge, starting at 8 PM. Hosted by the Bodybuilding Association of Maldives, this year’s event promises to showcase the strength and dedication of local athletes.
A total of 30 competitors will participate in the championship, representing various teams, including Extreme, MNDF, Police, Gymnasia, and Forge.
The winning team will be awarded a trophy and monetary prize. The Bodybuilding Association encourages the public to attend, making it an opportunity for fans to support their favourite athletes and teams.
For the past two years, MNDF claimed the championship title, and it will be interesting to see if they can defend their title against this year’s formidable contenders.
In last year’s competition, Mohamed Yaameen, known as Yaanbe, achieved a milestone by winning the prestigious Mr Maldives title for the third consecutive year. This marked his fourth overall victory, having previously won the title in 2017 before securing a three-year streak of victories.
He now stands alongside previous champions such as Adil and Mohamed Rasheed (Rachey), both of whom have claimed the title three times. In addition to Yaanbe’s triumphs, Azneen Rashad has dominated the Sports Physique category, winning the championship title for the past two years.
