Maldives Expo 2026 Opens in Hulhumalé Featuring 430 Exhibitors
Accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, the President officially opened the national trade exhibition
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated Maldives Expo 2026 at Hulhumalé Central Park, launching a commercial showcase featuring 430 exhibitors displaying more than 4,400 local and international products.
Accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, the President officially opened the national trade exhibition last night, before touring stalls and meeting participants. Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef, cabinet ministers, and senior state dignitaries also attended the opening ceremony.
Organised under the theme “Future Maldives – Innovation, Creativity and Global Connections”, the fair spans seven designated exhibition districts, marking a significant increase from last year’s event, which featured 240 participants across five zones.
Two new districts were introduced this year: the Visitor Economy District, aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises supplying the tourism sector, and the International District, which showcases goods from countries that hold or are negotiating trade pacts with the Maldives.
The exhibition is organised jointly by the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade and the Business Centre Corporation (BCC). Spanning the entirety of Hulhumalé Central Park, the expo will run through 2 November.
An awards ceremony recognising achievements across several enterprise categories was held on 24 October ahead of the public opening. The President and First Lady are scheduled to make further visits to the grounds on 26 and 27 October to meet with local entrepreneurs.
