Maldives Police Announce 29 Special Constable Vacancies

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) announced today job vacancies for the position of Special Constabulary Constable.

The individuals appointed to the position will receive a monthly salary of MVR 17,175.

MPS have also outlined the eligibility criteria for applicants applying for the post, which requires candidates to have completed Grade 10, be between 18 and 35 years of age, and possess the physical fitness, good conduct, and overall capability necessary to carry out police duties.

Additionally, the announcement states that the applicant must not have been convicted of a serious criminal offence, or if convicted of any criminal offence, a period of three years must have elapsed since the completion of the sentence or the pardon of the imposed punishment.

Additional Requirements:

  • No history of court-issued protection orders related to domestic violence
  • Free from political party affiliation or constitutional/legally elected posts
  • Not being a person against whom charges have been filed for illicit drug use
  • Being in sufficient physical health to complete the Special Constabulary police training
  • Meeting the minimum height requirement of 5 feet 3 inches for males, or 5 feet for females.

The officers selected for this position will generally be required to work in the Malé area.

According to the announcement, preference will be given to applicants who pass the physical fitness test, swimming test, medical examination, polygraph test, interview, and background assessment. Higher priority will also be given to candidates who achieve high scores in these assessments.

While seeking 29 individuals for the position, those interested in applying must submit their documents by 16:00 on the 30th of this month.
