Maldives Records USD 16.1 Million Revenue from Import-Export in November
The Maldives generated over USD 16.1 million in revenue from import-export activities in November, according to data from the Maldives Customs Service (MCS).
Imports, excluding fuel, remained steady compared to the same period last year, totalling USD 220.5 million. However, with the inclusion of fuel, total imports saw a decline to USD 259.4 million in November, down from USD 278.9 million in November 2023.
The main imports in November included machinery and electrical equipment, fuel products, and food items, amounting to USD 32.4 million.
The largest share of imports came from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, India, Singapore, and Malaysia, with the breakdown as follows:
- UAE: USD 6.7 million
- China: USD 39.4 million
- India: USD 37.7 million
- Singapore: USD 16.4 million
- Malaysia: USD 10.8 million
In terms of product categories, food imports were valued at USD 57.3 million, machinery and electronic equipment at USD 46.5 million, and fuel at USD 37.7 million.
On the export side, the Maldives saw a decline in trade. Fish exports, which had been valued at USD 14 million in November 2023, decreased to USD 7.8 million in November 2024.
