Maldivian Introduces Fourth ATR 42-600 Aircraft

Maldivian has announced the arrival of its latest addition to the fleet, a fourth ATR 42-600 aircraft, yesterday.

The newly acquired aircraft touched down at Velana International Airport, marking a significant milestone for the airline. To celebrate this achievement, a special ceremony was held at VIA, graced by distinguished guests, officials, and key partners.

According to Maldivian, the addition of the new aircraft will bolster the airline’s capacity, enabling it to serve more routes and enhance connectivity for both locals and tourists. The expansion of the fleet underscores Maldivian’s unwavering commitment to providing exceptional service and convenience to its passengers.

During the ceremony to welcome the new ATR aircraft, Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas highlighted the strategic importance of the latest addition in the company’s growth trajectory.

“We are delighted to integrate this brand-new ATR aircraft into our fleet, which represents a significant step forward in our pursuit of operational excellence and an enhanced passenger experience,” remarked Iyas.

Presently, Maldivian’s fleet comprises 25 aircraft, including an Airbus A320 commercial carrier, four ATRs, nine Dash-8 series aircraft, and eleven Twin Otter seaplanes.
