Maldivian President Expresses Grief Following Fatal Hospital Fire in Pakistan

President Muizzu has sent a message of condolence to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, following a fatal fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital.

In his message issued on Wednesday, President Muizzu conveyed deep sorrow upon learning of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of newborn infants at the facility.

Writing on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, President Muizzu extended sympathies to Prime Minister Sharif, the Pakistani government, and the nation. He offered prayers for solace to the grieving families during what he described as a time of immense grief.

President Muizzu also noted the official inquiry into the incident, expressing hope that the ongoing investigation will lead to enhanced preventative and safety measures to avert similar tragedies in the future.
