Man Dies Following Accident in Male’ Hulhumale Highway

A man has died from injuries sustained in an accident on the highway connecting Male to Hulhumale, the Maldives Police Service has said.

Police said it received reports of the accident at approximately 6:40 am on Friday, when the motorcyclist, a Sri Lankan national, fell and collided with the fencing along the road.

The injured man was initially taken to Hulhumale Hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to ADK Hospital in Male. Despite receiving medical care, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead today.

The Maldives Police Service has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
