Man Dies Following Serious Motorcycle Crash in Addu City

A man who sustained critical injuries in a road accident in Addu City last week has died while receiving treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Rameez Abdullah, a resident of Hithadhoo in Addu City and an employee of Fenaka Corporation.

The accident occurred on Tuesday night when two motorcycles collided on Hithadhoo Highway.

A CCTV video circulating on social media appears to show a motorcycle travelling at high speed along the highway before colliding with another motorcycle that was moving slowly. The footage also shows a rider being thrown from the vehicle following the impact.

According to family members, Rameez suffered severe injuries in the crash, including a traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures. He underwent emergency surgery and remained under critical observation after the accident.

Rameez died on Monday while receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of ADK Hospital.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
